Yturri-Edmunds Homestead Virtual Tour Series

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I created a virtual tour series for the Conservation Society of San Antonio, offering Junior Associates an immersive way to experience the Yturri-Edmunds Homestead from anywhere. Built between 1840 and 1860, this rare adobe-block home is one of San Antonio’s last remaining structures of its kind.

The homestead was home to Ernestine Edmunds, granddaughter of Manuel Yturri y Castillo. A trailblazer in historic preservation, she lived in the home’s music room until her passing in 1961, later bequeathing the property to the Conservation Society to ensure its legacy endured.

Through this video series, I highlighted the homestead’s architecture, rare water mill, limestone-lined acequia, and Ernestine’s personal artifacts, including her piano, schoolbooks, and family portraits. This project helped keep San Antonio’s history alive and accessible during a time of social distancing.
